A Golden St. Patrick’s Day Weekend for the Jr. Pens
It was a weekend to remember for the Wilkes-Barre Jr. Pens, with four teams bringing home gold across multiple tournaments over St. Patrick’s Day weekend — and no shortage of big moments along the way.
The U8 team made the trip to Aston and put everything they’ve learned this season on full display. Hard work pays off, and these young Jr. Pens proved it by taking home a well-earned championship cup. Watching this group grow over the course of the year has been a joy, and this is a memory they’ll carry with them for a long time.
The U12 A team was nothing short of dominant, going a perfect 4–0 with goalie Jack Bawiec turning in one of the most impressive performances of the weekend — posting 3 shutouts on his way to a decisive division title. Jack was a wall all weekend, and the entire U12 A squad played with the kind of structure and intensity that championship teams are built on. Another tournament win to add to the trophy case.

Meanwhile, the 14U A and 16U A teams packed up and headed north to a snowy Buffalo to test themselves against older and tougher competition. The 14U As went 4–0–1, showing the grit and composure that have defined this group all season long — never backing down, never flinching when games were on the line. The 16U As went 3–1–1 in a hard-fought division, with Gavin Ewing finding the back of the net in a shootout to help seal the deal and bring home gold as well.

Four teams. Four championships. One incredible weekend.
