Girls Try Hockey Event!

Join Us for a Free Girls Hockey Clinic at Toyota Sportsplex!

The Wilkes-Barre Jr. Pens are excited to host a free ice hockey clinic for girls ages 4–18 at Toyota Sportsplex in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, March 7, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This event is part of a national initiative to introduce more girls to the sport of hockey and to grow the game in our local community.

No experience is necessary, and cost should not be a barrier—rental skates are free, and we will have some loaner equipment available for new players. To help us plan and ensure there is enough gear for everyone, all participants must pre-register before arriving.

We ask that each skater bring:

  • A helmet (hockey, bike, or other protective helmet)

  • Elbow/knee pads (bike pads are fine)

  • Winter gloves or similar hand protection

As a special bonus, USA Hockey will provide free jerseys for the first 60 girls who attend. Participants will also receive PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) trading cardsand be entered for a chance to win a PWHL Barbie.

If you have any questions or need more details, please contact wbjrpensinfo@gmail.com. We encourage families to share this opportunity so that as many girls as possible can experience the fun of hockey in a welcoming, supportive environment.
