Jr. Pens 14U A Weekend Update — February 8, 2026

The Jr. Pens dropped a 7-3 decision to the Princeton Jr Tigers at Lisa McGraw Rink at Princeton Day School. Nathan Zubick handled goaltending duties in a tough outing as the Tigers capitalized on power play opportunities, scoring 3 goals on 5 Jr. Pens penalties.

After a scoreless first period that saw the Tigers take a 1-0 lead, the Jr. Pens fought back in the second period with goals from Owen Tost (assisted by Michael Whiteduck and Mason Kelly) and Michael Whiteduck (from Tost and Kelly) to make it 2-3. However, Princeton pulled away in the third period. Max Bartal (from Owen Tost) added a late goal, but the Tigers ultimately won 7-3.

Owen Tost was named Player of the Game for his two-point performance and strong effort. The team acknowledged that a minimal effort game led to the loss, but with playoffs approaching, they’re focused on getting back to the drawing board in practice this week and regrouping for the postseason push.
