Jr. Pens 14U A Weekend Update — February 1, 2026

The Jr. Pens held off a late Genesis Green rally to earn a 4-3 victory at TSP, improving to 18-4-1 on the season. Gavin Kravulski was solid in goal, stopping 22 of 25 shots (.88 save percentage) as the Jr. Pens outshot Genesis 34-25, including a dominant 17-shot first period.

The Jr. Pens came out on fire in the first period with three quick goals. Dayne Wadas (from Jace Geoffroy) opened the scoring, followed by an unassisted goal from Jett Prukala, and Michael Whiteduck (assisted by Wadas and Dylan Lyle) made it 3-0 after one period.

Genesis battled back in the second, cutting the lead to 3-2, but the Jr. Pens maintained composure. In the third period, John Lauersen (from Connor Kennedy and RJ Minnich) provided the insurance goal to make it 4-2. Genesis pulled within one late, but the Jr. Pens held on for the 4-3 win.

Dayne Wadas was named Player of the Game for his strong all-around performance. The takeaway: “We started off on fire which led to a 3-0 lead at the end of the 1st period. We allowed Genesis back in the game, in turn had to grind out a 4-3 win.”
